You don’t need to diagnose your air conditioner. Start with what it is doing, and we’ll help you choose the right next step.

These symptoms can have different causes. Some fit routine servicing; others need fault finding. Tell us what has changed before the visit.
Tell us whether it has changed gradually or suddenly, and whether every room is affected.
A service may help with restricted airflow. A system that no longer cools needs diagnosis.
Describe the smell and any visible build-up. Deeper cleaning may need a different scope.
An active or recurring leak needs assessment. Mention it before booking routine maintenance.
Let us know when it happens. Cleaning alone may not address a fan or mechanical fault.
For ducted systems, tell us which outlets or zones have changed so we can plan the right checks.

A service starts with the equipment you have and the care it needs. We confirm the checks, cleaning level and access requirements for your system before you book.
Check operation, airflow, unusual sounds and the response from the remote or controller. Tell the technician about anything you have noticed.
Inspect and clean filters and accessible parts within the agreed scope. Check the indoor unit and condensate drainage; deeper internal cleaning is confirmed separately.
Check accessible outdoor equipment and airflow. Ducted servicing also considers the return-air filter, accessible ducting and zone controls as appropriate.
Check operation after the agreed work and explain what was found. If a fault needs further testing or a repair, we discuss the next step and cost with you.
Outside the agreed service
Parts, repairs, detailed fault finding, refrigerant work, duct repairs, major dismantling and difficult-access work are not automatically included. Additional cleaning or a return visit may also need a separate quote.
We explain the issue and price before you approve additional work. Read about diagnosis and repairs

Different systems need different attention. Send the brand and model if you know them; we’ll confirm suitability before arranging your service.
01 / SPLIT SYSTEMSWe consider each indoor unit’s filters, accessible coil and fan condition, drainage, controller and outdoor equipment. For multi-head systems, tell us the number of indoor units sharing the outdoor unit.

02 / DUCTED REVERSE CYCLEFor ducted reverse cycle systems, we check the return-air filter, accessible indoor and outdoor equipment, airflow, drainage and zone controls. Let us know about roof access, unusual sounds or rooms that no longer feel evenly conditioned. Routine servicing does not include cleaning every duct.

Start with your manufacturer’s maintenance instructions. Usage, dust, filter condition and previous drainage or performance problems all matter. Arrange attention before heavy use, and tell us about new symptoms as they appear.

Know who is looking after your system
Our Malaga-based team brings electrical and air conditioning work together. The relevant authorisations matter when a service leads to a recommendation for further work.
A business trading authorisation is separate from a technician’s refrigerant handling licence. The licence must suit the work being performed.

A few useful answers
Cleaning, costs and what happens if your air conditioner needs more attention.
Talk it throughWe confirm the price for your system before booking. The system type, number of units, cleaning required and safe access all affect the scope. Send your suburb and a short description or photos; we will confirm the service cost, any visit fee and whether an assessment is needed first.
More about service pricingThe agreed scope can include operational checks, filter cleaning, accessible indoor and outdoor equipment, drainage and controller checks. Ducted equipment also needs system-specific attention to return air, accessible ducting and zones. We confirm the cleaning level and inclusions for your equipment; repairs, parts and refrigerant work are not automatically included.
No. A wall-split hydro clean is deeper internal cleaning using equipment and protection suited to the job. Cleaning an accessible filter is only one part of looking after a system. Tell us about dust, odours or visible build-up so we can confirm whether a hydro clean is the appropriate service and what its price covers.
Start with the manufacturer's maintenance instructions. How often you use the system, its surroundings, filter condition and previous problems all matter. A heavily used system or a dusty property may need attention more often. Arrange an inspection before a period of heavy use, and raise new symptoms rather than waiting for the next routine visit.
Australian Government maintenance guidanceYes. A ducted system still has filters, indoor and outdoor equipment, drainage and controls that need care. We consider return-air condition, airflow and zone operation as part of the agreed service. Let us know about roof access and which rooms are affected; duct repairs or replacement are separate work.
Tell us how many indoor units you have and whether they are separate systems or a multi-head system. Each indoor unit needs to be considered, even when units share outdoor equipment. We confirm access, the cleaning required for each unit and the total scope and price before booking.
Refrigerant work is not automatically part of a routine maintenance visit. Poor cooling does not, by itself, establish a refrigerant problem. If a fault is suspected, we explain the appropriate diagnostic step and quote any additional work. Regulated refrigerant handling requires the relevant technician licence.
About refrigerant handling licencesTell us when you enquire so we can plan for fault diagnosis rather than assume a routine clean will fix it. Persistent leaks, error codes, repeated tripping or a system that will not operate normally can require a repair visit. If you are unsure, describe what you see and we will help identify the next step.
Explore air conditioning repairsWe explain what was found and whether further testing or repair is needed. Work outside the agreed service is discussed and priced before you approve it. Replacement parts, specialist testing or another visit may be needed; discovering a fault does not mean those costs were included in the maintenance booking.
Follow the instructions for your particular model and only access filters intended for owner cleaning. Keep outlets and the area around outdoor equipment clear. Leave equipment covers, internal dismantling, electrical work and refrigerant work to the appropriate technician. If access is difficult or you are unsure, ask for help.
Send the brand, model and a photo of the label if it is safely accessible. We confirm suitability before booking rather than assuming every model has the same requirements. Evaporative cooling has a separate service scope from refrigerated split and ducted systems; mention it in your enquiry.
See evaporative servicingMaintenance requirements differ between manufacturers and products. Check your model's instructions and warranty terms, keep your service records and tell us about any current warranty before work is arranged. Manufacturer warranties operate alongside Australian Consumer Law consumer guarantees; there is no single annual-service rule that describes every warranty.
