Start with the right decision

Not every old air con
needs a new beginning.

Age is only part of the story. The fault, condition and how well your system fits your home help us work out which path is worth taking.

01

A fault worth fixing

Repair it.

An isolated fault, available parts and an otherwise sound system can make repair the sensible choice. Start with a diagnosis if the cause is unknown.

02

Good layout. Tired equipment.

Replace it.

If the old setup kept you comfortable, a changeover may work. We check the new equipment, connections and existing installation before confirming the scope.

03

Your home needs something different

Rethink it.

Rooms never cool enough? Renovated or changed how you use the house? Revisit capacity, unit positions, airflow and zoning before choosing the replacement.

Compare replacement systems

A recommendation should solve the original problem, including poor sizing, noise or airflow.

Room by room. Or throughout your home.

Your home.
Your kind of comfort.

A replacement is a chance to keep what worked and improve what didn’t. We start with the rooms you use and the setup you already have.

White Toshiba split-system indoor air conditioner mounted high in the corner of a room.01 / SPLIT SYSTEMS

A fresh start for a favourite room.

Replace a wall-mounted split with capacity and placement that suit the space. We check the pipe route, drain, outdoor position and power supply.

  • Reassess rooms that never felt comfortable
  • Check wall openings and making-good work
  • Compare noise, controls and exact models

Look beyond the indoor and outdoor units.

Replacing the main machines won’t fix damaged ducts or poor airflow. We inspect the roof-space installation and confirm which parts can stay.

  • Ducts, insulation, outlets and return air
  • Zone dampers, motors and controller compatibility
  • Roof access and the rooms used together

A changeover, properly considered

What can be reused when replacing your air conditioner?

Existing parts aren’t automatically suitable for a new system. We inspect the installation and check the selected model’s requirements before promising reuse.

Air conditioning replacement FAQs

Still weighing it up? You don’t need to choose a brand or know the system size before talking to us.

Should I repair or replace my old air conditioner?

Compare the diagnosed fault and repair cost with the condition of the whole system. Parts availability, repeated breakdowns and whether the system suits your rooms matter more than an automatic age cut-off. If the fault is unknown, diagnosis may be the best first step.

Read the repair or replace guide
Can the existing pipes, wiring and ducts be reused?

Only where they are suitable for the exact replacement and in sound condition. Pipework must meet the manufacturer’s requirements; wiring and protection need checking; ductwork must suit the airflow. We make the reuse assumptions clear in the quote. Photos alone cannot confirm what is inside a pipe or roof space.

How much does air conditioning replacement cost in Perth?

A small split-system changeover and a ducted redesign involve very different work. Equipment, access, connection changes, electrical work and removal all affect the installed price. Send photos to start a quote. If a site visit is needed, we confirm any fee before booking; the visit fee is deducted from your invoice if you proceed.

How long does a replacement take?

Timing depends on the system, access and how much of the installation changes. A straightforward changeover is a different job from moving equipment or renewing ducts. We confirm the expected installation time and any interruption to power or cooling after assessing the scope.

Does the replacement need to be the same size or brand?

No. We reassess room sizes, layout, sun exposure, insulation and how you use the home. The old capacity is a starting point, not a sizing calculation. We compare suitable models, controls, noise and warranty support once the requirements are clear.

How we approach sizing
Does an R22 air conditioner have to be replaced?

No. Existing R22 equipment in Australia is not automatically banned or required to be replaced. Its condition, repair needs, parts and refrigerant availability inform the decision. If it still works well, its refrigerant type alone is not a reason to discard it.

Australian Government R22 guidance
Will a new air conditioner lower my electricity bill?

It may, but a saving cannot be promised without comparing the equipment and how it is used. Sizing, insulation, thermostat settings, running hours, duct losses and electricity tariffs all affect the result. Compare the energy information for the exact models under consideration.

Understanding the Zoned Energy Rating Label
What happens to the old unit and refrigerant?

We plan old-unit removal as part of the replacement scope. The supply is isolated and refrigerant is recovered by an appropriately licensed technician before the equipment is removed for suitable disposal. The quote should identify removal and any making-good work. Tell us before installation if you want to keep any old equipment.

Can I replace only the indoor or outdoor unit?

Indoor and outdoor units need to be an approved compatible combination. Replacing just one is not always possible, especially across different generations or refrigerants. We check the exact model pairing and available parts before recommending a partial replacement.

What warranty information will I receive?

We provide the equipment details and available manufacturer warranty information, explain the controls and filters, and identify any retained components. Our workmanship cover relates to the work we perform; equipment warranty terms depend on the selected model.
